Drahim Castle in Stary Drawsko (Zamek Drahim)

In Stary Drawsko, the ruins of a fortified castle of the Knights Hospitaller from the 14th century have been preserved. This castle, built in the Gothic style between 1360 and 1366, was constructed on the site of a destroyed Slavic stronghold. The Drahim Castle stands as a unique example of Hospitaller architecture in Pomerania. Located on a narrow isthmus between Lake Drawsko and Lake Żerdno, it served a defensive function.

These historical remnants are not only a valuable cultural heritage from the medieval period but also a fascinating research subject for archaeologists. Despite numerous alterations and expansions, the castle has retained the original architectural concepts of the Knights Hospitaller. Currently, as a private property, it belongs to the Museum of Automotive and Technology in Otrębusy – Zbigniew Mikiciuk. Listed in the register of monuments in 1959, it represents an important element of Poland's national heritage.
